After the initial initial doubts, therefore, the medical digital recipe has become an integral part of the daily life of Italian doctors and their patients. This is undoubtedly an important result within a scenario in which even Italian healthcare will be increasingly digital.
We remember that the first step of this revolution is dated 2003, with the art. 50 of Law 326/2003 which introduced the standardized (paper) medical recipe and the health card (TS). In 2008 the obligation to send data of all recipes from pharmacies was received, and then in 2011 also by all doctors.
Finally, starting from the 1° of March 2016, the legislation governing the national circularity of the medical recipe became operative.
The digital medical recipe was created to synchronize all prescription activities by the doctors and delivery by the pharmacy and to eliminate any paper support.
